ITINERARY

Day 01 : Cusco-Chachabamba-Wiñaywayna-Machupicchu-Aguas Calientes

Early in the morning we stop by to pick up passengers from their hotels before heading to the train station where we take the tourist train towards Chachabamba, the start of the Inca trail, and promptly arrive at the control point for the Sanctuary of Machu Picchu. After three hours trekking we arrive at the archaeological complex of Wiñaywayna (name the locals give to a group of abundant orchids found in the area and means “forever young”) After lunch we continue towards Intipunku (sun gate) from where there are spectacular views over Machupicchu. Today we only walk around the outskirts of the sanctuary and in the evening we return to Aguas Calientes where we spend the night in a comfortable hotel and dine in a local restaurant.

Day 02 : Aguas Calientes- Machupicchu- Aguas Calientes- CUSCO.

After breakfast we will take a bus up to the sanctuary of Machupicchu where we receive a complete guided tour of all the major attractions at the site. Those who wish to may climb Wayna Picchu (the mountain overlooking the site), the others can return to Aguas Calientes where there will be time to visit the thermal baths (entrance not included) After lunch in a local restaurant (not included) we take the train back to Cusco.
On arrival in Cusco our transport will transfer you back to your hotel.

• If you would like to upgrade to the panoramic train for the return journey please add $35 to the price.
